Development Opportunity
This is not a typical rental offer. We are inviting experienced partners to help bring a new purpose to this unique property. Whether you’re a public or commercial organization, or something entirely different, we welcome strong ideas and people who recognize the potential of this historic space.
You bring the vision, take the lead in developing your concept, and invest in making it happen. We provide the location and, where appropriate, co-invest in adapting the building to support its new use. Our goal is a long-term rental partnership that supports your initiative while preserving the historical value of the property.
This will be reflected in the rental fee structure, which will be finalized in alignment with the approved development plans.
Description
The main floor consists of five large salons and a separate office space, connected by wide corridors with high ceilings adorned with luxurious chandeliers. The larger rooms can be divided into smaller spaces with partition walls.
The bottom floor, or basement, consists of one large tiled space ideal for a catering kitchen, learning kitchen, or restaurant kitchen. It already features a selection of heavy-duty kitchen equipment (needing revision and repair), a walk-in freezer space, and a wine cellar space. To the front of the basement, next to the west terrace, is a small bar area. A small stage area frames the west terrace, which is covered by an awning. It can be used as a happy hour space for an office or a terrace for a food & beverage outlet.
This location is very versatile and can be used as an office space or for a hospitality concept. Villa Maria is located in Scharloo Abao overlooking the harbor and the entrance of the Waaigat lagoon, next to the Maritime Museum. The building sits on a 1,090 m² plot and has 512 m² usable built surface.
